Sink Assemblies

What are they used for?

Stainless Steel Sink units are a major component in a range of commercial environments, particularly in healthcare and catering industries due to their hygienic properties, durability and ease of cleaning.

All our sink units are supplied complete with adjustable feet for onsite leveling.  They are also flat packed for ease of transportation and maneuverability through doorways etc.

Whether the sink is used for washing up, food preparation or an alternative application, always consider where items come into the room from to establish whether you need a drainer on the left hand or right hand, a centrally positioned bowl with two drainers or perhaps a bowl with no drainage at all.

Single Bowl Drainer

A single bowl commercial sink is ideal for when space is a premium or if no food preparation is done on site.  It is important to remember that to avoid cross contamination, different sink bowls should be used for food preparation and cleaning / washing-up. (A separate hand wash basin is always required).

Double Bowl Drainer

Opting for a double stainless steel sink has it benefits over a single unit in certain industries. They are ideal for catering environments such as restaurants and cafés, as they enable you to fill one bowl with warm water for washing while using the other sink to rinse or soak pots and pans.

Benefits of Stainless Steel

Durability – Stainless steel is an extremely hard-wearing material, which is why it is commonly used for industrial and commercial sinks. It won’t chip, crack, fade, or stain, and the appropriate grade material will offer corrosion resistance.

Hygiene – Stainless steel is often the material of choice in environments where hygiene is of utmost importance, such as hospitals, commercial kitchens, food processing plants, and washrooms.  A stainless steel sink is easy to wipe down and clean and will be unaffected by most household cleaning chemicals.  A regular wash with mild detergent is usually all that is needed but some products, particularly acidic foods such as tomatoes, lemon juice, or vinegar and non-diluted cleaning fluids, could cause pitting and need to be rinsed immediately to avoid further damage.

Larger Capacity – As stainless steel is a relatively light, strong, and versatile material, it can be pressed into much deeper bowls than some other materials.

Eco-friendly – Stainless steel is theoretically 100% recyclable and is, therefore, less harmful to the environment than some other materials in use which are of great importance to businesses who are committed to being ‘green’.  Today, more than 30% of all stainless steel produced goes into the food and beverage sector, with ‘new’ stainless steel comprising approximately 60% recycled material – 25% old scrap such as end-of-life products, 35% new scrap which is returning from production & 40% new raw materials added.  This percentage is ever increasing as the use of stainless steel expands and due to the longevity of stainless steel, items produced today will not necessarily be recycled for 20-30 years.
